October Interview
1. Hi there, Same question as always. A Self-introduction?
Haha okay ! I am Jer-Hsuan, pronounce as Zhe Xuan in Hanyupingying. Born in Taiwan, and grow up in Taiwan too. I migrated to Singapore 8 years ago, served my NS and now a Singapore Citizen. Hmmm … I’m currently a student in NUS studying in the Electrical Engineering Department.
2. How did you get started in dance?
My first attempt at dance was in JC……. the “Mass Dance”. Then after that I got into Students’ Councilor then become one of the members who deal with the administrative things in non-sports CCA. Then also take up the post as “Dance I\C” to teach dance during orientation.
3. It seems that you are quite hard working in dance. What is your motivation there?
Hmmm I guess, the passion for the dance is really the main motivation and really take it seriously. And I really feel relaxed and happy during dance (though sometimes it is really hard to do certain move or what, but I guess it is where the fun part comes about)
4. Where do you see yourself bringing your dance level to?
Hmmm, that is a very difficult question, I guess to me right now, there is no limit, as in….. I think there is always room for improvement or a better style to express myself or the song. So I guess the journey is never ending. The determination and passion for dance will be the things that I am aiming at. Of course, I also do hope I can participate in some dance performance or competition next time in popping and locking.
5. Do you take the same philosophy to your school work and other things in life as well?
Yes, I definitely do. I believe that people must be able to differentiate what is important in life to them. To me, study (being a student of course) and dance are really the top priority in my life now. Trying to excel in the things I need or love to do is essential because it adds purpose to life. Life without a purpose is pretty meaningless.
6. Tell us more about Taiwan. Do you go back often?
Hmmm… I go back about once a year. I‘ll be back during the winter ( I love winter). Because I can’t really imagine myself spend my Christmas in Bermudas and short sleeves! Hahha (just kidding). Taiwan has nice food and nice and cheaper clothes sometimes.
7. How is the food back there in comparison to the local delights?
I guess it is hard to compare as both has its unique characteristic as well as they all have their significant dishes. You can never really find a nice chicken rice or roti prata in Taiwan. But only Taiwan has that super famous chicken cutlet and the shi lin night market where many delicious food are there.
8. Is it true that girls in Taiwan are generally prettier?
Not really! I guess Singaporean girls and Taiwanese girl are just different. And also is that the Taiwan population being bigger, so there is a higher chance to meet a prettier girl. And some Taiwan girls really know how to dress up and make up lah. Singapore also has many pretty girls too! (Being politically correct) Like there quite a few in Studio that really good looking and nice too right? Hahhaha (smilez)
9. Sensitive question here. Single or attached? Hehehe
Erm… sad to say…Single... Hahaha, but being single is not exactly that bad! Hahaha
