Freekzy Nutz Representing Singapore!

Five lads who represent the wholesome image of Hip Hop dance will be representing Singapore at the 2010 World Hip Hop Dance Championship at Las Vegas on August 1, 2010.

With over fifteen hundred of the world’s top street dancer converging at Las Vegas and representing more than 30 nations, the Freekzy Nutz will compete for the world title organized by Hip Hop International which also produced the hit reality TV show, America Best Dance Crew.

Mohammad Faliq Rais, together with his crew mates,  Mohammad Aliff Rais, Iskandar Appandi, Al-Azlan Shah Abdul Rahman, Muhammad Fauzi Abdul Rashid and Muhammad Adam Abdul Halid faces one of their toughest competition to date.

What started as co-curricular activity for the former students of Yuying Secondary School, except Faliq who was from Commowealth Secondary School, it turned into a passionate pursuit for excellence.

They have conquered the local dance scene with their animated and irreverent style of Hip Hop, winning competitions such as Street Bliss (2007), Dance Explosion (2008) and Hip Hop Pulse Dance (2009). The Freekzy Nutz now aims to capture the imagination of the international crowd and judges.

“It is a dream come true feeling,” said Faliq. “We never imagine that we’d be able to take on crazy groups from over the world. And now we are just one day away from leaving Singapore. It is a great honor to represent Singapore”.

Preparation started right after winning the Singapore’s Best Dance Crew back in April 2010. When asked about what would they be looking forward to, the guys stressed on relishing the experience in being a part of the world competition.

“We look forward to sharing what we take back from Las Vegas to the local dance scene. And of course to put up a good fight on August 1″, Faliq added.

Indeed, with the knowledge that “there are many who are giving us full support, we know that we have someone to fight for, which is our friends and our home”.
